Welcome to Room 12

We have had a wonderful start to the term. It was fabulous to see so many of our tamariki at school and ready for learning. This week we have been doing some fun activities to get to know each other and also started learning about the Treaty of Waitangi. 

We had a fun game of T ball with Room 13 and today we had a Year 4 Hui and 3 children from each of our Year 4 classes received a certificate for demonstrating the Elm Park School values - Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.

Room 12's Class Treaty

 Room 12 have been learning about the Treaty of Waitangi. We learnt the importance of making an agreement to work together peacefully. We decided to make a Class Treaty. We came up with ideas by working collaboratively in groups. We then decided which to put on our Class Treaty. Lastly we drew around our hand, coloured it and wrote our name on it.

Acrostic Poems

This week Room 12 did some amazing Acrostic poems.  We have been learning how interesting adjectives and language features helps to create a picture in the readers mind. They used  interesting adjectives and similes to describe themselves. They then illustrated them.

ANZAC

Room 12 started Term 2 learning about ANZAC. We did a scavenger hunt. The children worked with a buddy to read information about ANZAC and complete a puzzle piece. They next coloured their puzzle pieces. We put the puzzle together and displayed it.
